If you read nothing else in this Guest Directory, here are two things you should know about The Phoenix:

1. If you need ANYTHING, please what’s app, call (Dial 0), or stop by the Front Desk.

2. Have a question about a tour, need a restaurant reservation, don’t feel well, forgot something, want champagne, something in your suite is not right, need a babysitter, or anything else. No request is too difficult or too strange.

Front Desk

Our Front Desk is available from 7am to 9pm in the lobby or by dialing 0 from your suite. We are here to do everything we can to make your stay enjoyable. We can help set up tours (fishing, snorkeling, diving, sailing, etc.), make restaurant reservations, arrange taxis and more.

Internet

WiFi is available throughout the property. Please contact the Front Desk for the password or if you have any trouble connecting.

Water

Our water is potable and safe for washing, brushing your teeth, cooking, etc. We recommend bottled water for drinking. Complimentary bottled water is available from a 5 gallon bottle that is connected to the small faucet at the kitchen sink. If you run out of drinking water, please contact the Front Desk so we can replace the 5 gallon bottle under the sink.

Housekeeping

Daily cleaning is scheduled between 9am and 4pm. If you wish to decline housekeeping service, please hang the Do Not Disturb sign on your door.

Fitness Center

Our fitness center is located upstairs from the lobby, next to Sol Spa. If you’re interested in a more strenuous workout than you can do in our fitness center, please ask the Front Desk for a complimentary day pass to a nearby gym or CrossFit facility.

Yoga

Phoenix guests can attend yoga classes on a complimentary basis at Zen Belize. We provide transportation. Intermediate classes are offered every day Monday through Friday at 845am. A more relaxed yoga for all levels is offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10am. Please inquire at the Front Desk.

Other complimentary activities

Other complimentary activities that may be available during your visit include adult and children’s painting classes, hair braiding, wine tasting, chocolate tasting, rum tasting, s’mores, and face painting. Please contact the Front Desk for schedule and details. We also have a happy hour at the Pool Bar every day from 4 to 5pm with complimentary wine, beer, and rum.

Complimentary Bicycles, Kayaks, and Paddle Boards

Golf Carts

For guests wanting to explore the island, we have golf carts available on-site for rent. Please see the Front Desk to arrange a rental and for recommendations on where to go.

The Environment

The Phoenix is committed to conserving the natural resources on Ambergris Caye and in Belize. We change linens every two days to help conserve water and electricity and to minimize the use of detergent. Guests who prefer daily linen changes can place the cards located on their bedside tables on their beds. Guests who prefer less frequent changes can inform the Front Desk. Towels hung on rods or hooks will be left for reuse. Towels placed on the floor or in the tub will be replaced with fresh towels. Guests can also contribute to the conservation effort by turning off lights, fans, TVs, and the air conditioning when not in use.

Pool Bar

The pool bar is open from 10am to 5pm daily, serving food and drinks. The pool bar is for use by Phoenix guests only.

Both of our pools are sanitized using salt water chlorinators, so they will be gentler on your skin, eyes, and hair than traditional chlorine pools. There is an outdoor shower located between Buildings C and D for rinsing off prior to entering the pool. The depths of our pools range from 2 to 4 feet. Diving into the pool and running around the pools is strictly prohibited. Glass is not permitted in or around the pools. Towels or personal items left unattended at the pool for more than 30 minutes will be brought to the pool bar. Pools are for use by Phoenix guests only.

Belize has a lot to offer, and we are excited to show it off. We highly recommend that you stop by the front desk and ask us to tell you about all the trips and tours that are available.
We are committed to booking our guests with the best qualified licensed guides in the country. We have personally gone on these tours and specialize in creating custom itineraries that provide memorable experiences. To book a tour, please visit or call our Front Desk. We will provide a voucher for each activity, which you will present to the tour operator. The cost will be billed to your Phoenix account for payment upon check out. Please be sure to discuss your tour in detail with our Front Desk, including what to bring, what to wear, how strenuous the trip may be, tipping, etc. We are here to make sure you get the most enjoyment and best value out of your vacation experience.

If you have any changes to your schedule, all tours are fully refundable up to 24 hours prior. Cancellations within 24 hours are nonrefundable. All prices below are in US Dollars, subject to 12.5% government tax, and may change from the time of printing this Guest Directory.

Flights

Domestic Flights - Flights to and from Belize City and San Pedro on Tropic Air are available daily at convenient times that connect with all international flights. Flight time is 15 minutes. Tropic Air also flies to many other destinations in Belize. We can arrange your flight to Belize City or to any other destination in Belize.

International Flights - We would be happy to assist in reconfirming your flight with your international carrier and printing your boarding passes. Please see the Front Desk for assistance.

Groceries

The Greenhouse - Our top recommendation for grocery shopping, especially for fresh fruits and vegetables. Located on Middle Street, 4 blocks south of The Phoenix.

Caye Mart - Offers a selection of packaged goods, frozen meats, toiletries, and more. Located 1 block north of The Phoenix.

Fruit and Vegetable Stand - A small but fresh selection of produce. Located 1 block north of The Phoenix.

Medical

Medical Care - In the event you don’t feel well, please call the Front Desk. We have doctors on call who can come see you, or we can drive you to see them. We can also drive you to a nearby pharmacy.

Specialty Shops

Belize Chocolate Company - A chocolate boutique located on Front Street, across from the RC school, and near Blue Water Grill. A microbatch bean to bar chocolate maker based on Ambergris Caye that uses organic, fair trade beans from small family farms in Southern Belize. Offers a range of chocolates, truffles, many other snack, and unique gift ideas. Highly recommended.

Wine de Vine- Located 5 minutes south of the airstrip, Wine de Vine offers a wide selection of wines by the glass, bottle, and case. They also offer imported meats, cheeses, and gourmet foods. It is a fun little wine bar that is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 8pm. Wine de Vine also has the only certified sommelier in the country, and we’re not biased by the fact that it is our sister business.

Pharmacies - Ambergris Hope’s Pharmacy is on Middle Street, 1 block south of The Phoenix. There are several other pharmacies in town. Please inquire at the Front Desk for directions and also to confirm hours.

Local calls are $1.00 BZE per minute and calls to the U.S. and Canada are $3.00 BZE per minute, plus 12.5% tax. Please inquire with our Front Desk for more information on per minute charges to other countries.
