Supporting Education & Healthcare on Ambergris Caye

The summary of our community project: we raise money, we match all donations, we help our community.

Current Focus: Hope Haven Children’s Home

Mural on the Hope Haven building in San Pedro, Belize, commissioned by The Phoenix and painted by a visiting artist from Houston.

“Courage within you, hope around you.” We provided support to the artists who created this mural at Hope Haven to serve as a daily reminder of the resilience and potential of every child in San Pedro. Special thanks to the incredible artist community in San Pedro and Houston, who work tirelessly to make our island a better place.

We are currently raising money to support Hope Haven, a children’s home in San Pedro for abandoned and abused children.

A Legacy of Local Impact

From May 2021 through 2025, we helped pay for internet access, purchased devices for kids who don’t have them, paid for tutors to alleviate learning loss,
and provide cash transfers for food and other necessities for families who continue to deal with the fallout of the pandemic.

From June 2020 through May 2021, we prepared and delivered hot meals and grocery bags, primarily to seniors in San Pedro.

As of May 27, 2021, we had delivered 6,272 hot meals and 1,150 grocery bags.

You can see a full accounting of the feeding program here, including all donations, all spending, and what was left over at the end of May 2021.

Prior to the pandemic, our community program raised money and matched all donations for projects in San Pedro related to education, healthcare, and kids.
