We
first visited Ambergris Caye in June 2005 to see The Phoenix project. - A couple from Florida Our first visit was in January 2005. We then we returned in June 2005 with some friends. - Robert and Rene', Granite Bay, CA |
We
visited Ambergris about two and a half years ago on our first visit
to Belize. We did not spend anytime on the mainland that year, coming
directly to Ambergris from Belize City. The trip was a combined
scuba diving expedition, relaxing vacation, and visit with our friend.

We
first came to the island in the early 1970s. We simply loved it at
first sight. Besides an isolated generator here and there, there was
no power, no toilets, and probably about 600 people or so. People
used rainwater for drinking and bathing. It was quite different than
