The Phoenix Restaurant & Lobby Building - June 2008
After completing the first floor walls in May 2008 our crew
began to form the structural beams of the second floor slab.
Plywood forms were placed around
the steel in advance of the large pour.
A tremendous amount of steel goes into each Phoenix building.
Here are crew members in the midst of the concrete beam pour.
The cement is mixed onsite, poured into the forms,
then thoroughly vibrated, and finally smoothed out.
Here is the Restaurant and Lobby Building after
the large concrete beam pour in late May 2008.
Some steel is left exposed and
then tied into the second floor slab.
Here is the building viewed from condo A8.
The Restaurant and Lobby Building will be a two story structure.
In in addition to the resort's restaurant and lobby it will house
a business center, health and fitness center, spa, and office space.
Following the beam pour styrofoam panels and concrete
T-beams are laid out across the structural beams for insulation.
The structural beams above the restaurant will be
supported for at least 28 days after the concrete pour.
While work on the slab continues other crew members have begun
to rough plaster the interior walls of the building's first floor
.
These are the two large doors that will take guests
of The Phoenix from the lobby into a spacious courtyard
.
