The
Phoenix Restaurant & Lobby Building - April 2008
Here
is the site of The Phoenix's Restaurant and
Lobby Building prior to the start of construction.
In
addition to housing our resort's restaurant and lobby,
this building will also feature a spa, health and fitness center,
business center, multiple bathrooms, and an upstairs outdoor bar.
The
first major step of construction
was to excavate the building site.
Simultaneously
our crew began tying the
steel used in the footing of the foundation.
Here
is the building's footing after being poured. The steel and concrete
footing was built atop a 10' by 10' grid of pilings that sits
on bedrock.
The
building is being built in the southwest corner of The Phoenix
property. The enclosed area on the second floor will be set back
from
the first floor, creating a large outdoor deck on the second floor.
Next
our crew began construction of the walls of the foundation.
The
finished foundation height will
be six and a half feet above sea level.
Here
is the foundation after the
concrete block walls were completed.
Here
is the foundation of the Restaurant and Lobby Building
in the forefront and Buildings A, B, and C in the background.
Where
our construction materials are being kept will
eventually become an outdoor patio for the resort's restaurant.
